Field Operations | Explorer Program

The Los Santos Police Department Explorer Program inspires youth to pursue law-enforcement careers by promoting discipline, teamwork, community engagement, and professionalism while building positive relationships with the department and preparing participants for future entry-level roles.

The Los Santos Police Department Explorer Program gives motivated youth the opportunity to learn about law enforcement, develop leadership skills, and serve their community while working alongside LSPD personnel in a supervised, educational environment 

To inspire the next generation of public-service professionals by providing high-quality training, mentorship, and community engagement opportunities while reinforcing the values of honor, integrity, duty, and dedication. 

Explorers participate in:

• Training sessions and leadership development

• Community events and volunteer activities

• Ride-alongs and supervised field observations

• Traffic and crowd-support roles (under supervision)

• Administrative and support duties within the department

Applicants must:

• Be between 14 and 21 years old (apply before 20th birthday)

• Maintain at least a 2.0 GPA

• Complete an application, background check, and interview

• Demonstrate good character and respect for authority

• Commit to meetings, training, and community events

• Have parental consent if under 18
