The Chief of the Los Santos Police Department is the head of the entire department. The Chief oversees many sub-offices of the department including:
The LSPD Professionalism and Ethics Division
Field Operations Division
Administration Division
Traffic Enforcement Unit
In addition to heading the aforementioned sub-offices, the Chief's day-to-day duties include:
Overseeing the operation of the entire department
Communicating with external departments to resolve interdepartmental affairs
Managing the department’s fleet of patrol vehicles, including new acquisitions
The Chief is also the head of the Chain of Command and will have the final say in all department matters/disputes.

The Deputy Chief of the Police Department is the second highest ranking individual in the department. He/she is the Chief’s assistant when it comes to department matters, and serves as Interim Chief in his/her absence. The Deputy Chief is also a member of several sub offices and carries out the following duties:

Direct Supervisor to the Lieutenant and Captains of Administration

The LSPD Patrol Commander is responsible for any and all things regarding the logistics of the field operations of the department. Included in this are the following responsibilities:

The LSPD Lieutenant(s) of Administration are responsible for the primary operation and updating of the department’s rosters. They operate in such capacity under the supervision of the Captains of Administration and directly supervise the department Staff Sergeant(s).

The LSPD Patrol Lieutenant works under the supervision, and in coordination with, the other patrol supervisors, and directly supervises the department Staff Sergeants. The Patrol Lieutenant is also responsible for leading the LSPD’s FTO (Field Training Officer) Program.

The LSPD Division Lieutenant works under the supervision of the Captain . They are the supervisor for all Sub-Division Heads relating to their sub-division. They are to oversee all Sub-division operations. They act as a liaison between Higher Staff and the sub-division heads.
